Is there a difference between airbrush makeup brands?
- YES there is! Don't be fooled by impostors. While some businesses or artists will advertise airbrush makeup as one of there services, THERE IS A HUGE DIFFERENCE in quality. True airbrush makeup is much more beneficial than a regular liquid foundation that can be diluted and sprayed on, or makeup you might buy in a can. Those types of airbrush makeup aren't waterproof, nor do they last nearly as long as the real deal. You might get about 4-6 hours of wear-time out of those (if you're lucky), but a true airbrush makeup will last 16+ hours.
How does true airbrush makeup work?
- Airbrush makeup is applied using a compressor and an airbrush "gun." It gets sprayed onto the skin using the airbrush gun, rather than applying it with a sponge or makeup brush. Whether you want a light coverage or a more full coverage, you can achieve a natural, flawless look to your skin. (I will be adding demos on this website in early April.)
Why should I choose airbrush makeup over traditional makeup for an event?
- True airbrush makeup is very lightweight and long lasting. It won't rub off or sweat off, even under stressful conditions. Airbrush makeup is sprayed onto the skin in micro-dots, therefore, it won't "settle" into any lines or accentuate flaws. It minimizes the appearance of pores and evens out skin tone & texture. It's also a high definition product, which means it will appear flawless on camera and in photos.
Which brand of airbrush makeup is best for my event?
- The particular brand that I use on clients is called "GlamAire" by Graftobian. This brand has been trusted in the TV & print industry for over 30 years. It is waterproof, silicone free, and has a wear time of 16+ hours. It comes in 48 natural-looking skin tone shades, which can be mixed and matched to just about any skin tone. It has more shades to choose from than any other brand of airbrush makeup on the market today.
2012 Trends
What are some of the hottest trends in makeup right now? - Bold lips are among the hottest trends for 2012. If wearing red is too bold for you, try using fushia lipstick instead. It's not as bold as red, but it still makes a great statement. Also trending are, modern "cat eyes", extreme smoky eyes, big bold lashes, and pops of color! Remember not to over do it. Wearing a bold lipstick should compliment softer eye makeup, and bold eye makeup should be complimented with a more subtle lipstick shade.
Safe &Sanitary - Making sure your artist is professionally trained in the safety of sanitation is just as important as their training on techniques, and use of products. I'm very sanitary with all of my products, brushes, etc. I use disposable mascara wands (no double dipping), lip brushes & spatulas. I transfer product from their containers to a palette, before I apply it to a client's face. When I'm working with groups of clients, such as photo shoots, bridal parties, etc. I sanitize my brushes and palette in between each makeup application, prior to beginning the next person's makeup. All of my brushes are shampooed with an antibacterial cleanser after each job, and treated with an antibacterial spray before I set them to dry. These steps prevent any type of bacteria build-up and cross contamination in between clients.
Product Information
- The products in my kit are well thought out. I wouldn't use a product on a client that I don't believe in. My kit contains products that are made of the highest quality professional grade. They're safe for any skin type, even those with sensitivities or rosacea. I use a water-based, hypo-allergenic, waterproof foundation in my airbrush system. The foundations are silicone free & oil free.
*Although I choose hypo-allergenic products, it is the clients' responsibility to make me aware of any concerns as well. I took great consideration in choosing products that would not only be long lasting, but would show up flawless in photographs as well.
